My Youtube Channel: O SHOW DA POLLY

Since 2021, I have been creating long-form content on my YouTube channel, O Show da Polly, where I share videos about pop culture, filmmaking, books, collecting, and art. My primary audience is in Brazil, the country where I was born, and some of the topics that consistently generate the most engagement include James Cameron's Avatar franchise, Barbie, and discussions about classic horror films.

Below are three of my viewers' favorite videos, which highlight the type of content I create and the communities I've built around these subjects.

Get to Know: O Show da Polly

My channel has 3.41K subscribers, and I started posting short form videos alongside the long form ones to start capturing a new audience that prefers that type of content.

To create a clear distinction in my audience’s mind between my role as the content creator behind O Show da Polly and my work in other contexts (such as promoting my books and short film productions or collaborating with professional brands like Second Voyage and iDea Remota) I developed an alter ego with its own visual identity.

This persona is characterized by a purple wig, colorful makeup, and other distinctive stylistic elements.

Although I occasionally appear on camera with my natural curly hair, the contrast between these visual identities helps me connect with different segments of my audience.

    My Instagram Accounts

On Instagram, I currently create content across three different accounts, each with a distinct purpose and audience.

    1. @pollydisanders

My main account, is primarily aimed at my Brazilian audience. It serves as a space where I share my personal life, creative projects, and vlogs alongside content about pop culture, film, books, and the arts, much like my YouTube and TikTok platforms.

    2. @epopeiasnordestinas

My second account is also dedicated to a Brazilian audience, but its focus is entirely different. Rather than covering pop culture or personal updates, this account is devoted to promoting Epopeias Nordestinas, my book saga featuring Brazilian queer superheroes. The series is published by Editora Flyve and has allowed me to build a community of readers around my work as an author.

    3. @pollyfilmmaker

My newest account is dedicated exclusively to English-language content. Through this profile, I share updates about my filmmaking projects, connect with fellow filmmakers and industry professionals, and engage in networking opportunities within the international film community.

I started a TikTok account this year!

Like my YouTube channel, O Show da Polly, the TikTok account I launched this year is dedicated to creating content about pop culture, film, literature, and the arts for a Brazilian audience. Through this platform, I have been experimenting with new formats, storytelling styles, trends, and creative approaches to better understand what resonates with both my audience and my own voice as a creator. As I continue to grow my online presence, I also plan to expand my content into English, allowing me to connect with a broader international audience while maintaining the community I have built in Brazil.

    Watch me in English!

I posted a video in 2023 talking about my experience at the premiere of Zack Snyder's REBEL MOON at the CCXP event in Brazil. Since many of my friends who loved Snyder's work were international, I decided to make the content in english so more people could access it around the world.
